Giant

Giant is an experimental wind turbine and kinetic art piece whimsically named for the giant Don Quixote thought he was attacking when he charged at a windmill. The windmill consists of an S-shaped frame at the middle height, to which fabric is strung from points at the top and bottom. I designed the middle piece to be machined on a rotary table on a manual mill, because the tool was conveniently available at the time. Through a small generator, this windmill was able to light several white LED's.
